Cathay Pacific began their relationship with Bamford, a British clothing and skincare brand based in the Cotswolds, at the beginning of October 2019. They replaced Aesop, the Australian skincare brand, for amenity kits as well as providing new bedding in both First and Business Class.
Honestly not having heard of Bamford prior to the collaboration, I was interested to learn more about the brand. Their website offers the description below:
‘Bamford was born out of a belief that what we put on our body should be as nourishing and nurturing as what we put inside it through our food. It creates items for the body and home that are inspired by our connection to the earth and a desire to protect its future.’
Given this is a relatively new offering, I thought it was worth sharing a bit more detail on the new bedding and amenity kit.
In this post:
Bamford Cathay Pacific First Class Bedding
The new Bamford bedding for First Class is exceptionally high quality and consists of:
- Wool Blanket which is warm and very soft to the touch.
- Cushion which is made of the same wool material as the blanket
- Pillow, Duvet and Mattress Pad all in 600 thread count cotton which is incredibly soft and cool to the touch
- Pillow Mist spray (5ml) has been added to the turndown service and is placed atop the duvet by the cabin crew. The scent is a blend of frankincense, lavender and marjoram.
Bamford Cathay Pacific First Class Amenity Kit
The Bamford amenity kit is a leather case with single zip in grey with purple accents for men and cream with purple accents for women.
Contents include:
- Bamford Grooming Department Face Mist 15ml
- Bamford Grooming Department Moisturiser 15ml
- Bamford Grooming Department Lip Balm Stick
- Long Spin X Mouthwash 14ml
- Toothbrush and Colgate Toothpaste
- 3M 1100 Foam Ear Plugs
- Cotton Eye Shade (Purple)
Given there are also eye shades (currently in blue) in the PYE Pyjamas package (pyjamas, slippers and eye shade) it seems odd that a passenger is given a second pair in the Bamford amenity kit.
Also worth noting that all three Bamford skincare products in the kit are produced in the PRC (China).
Summary
The new Bamford amenity kit and bedding are top quality, with the latter being especially luxurious with 600 thread count being a noticeable step up from other airlines.

Helpful and detailed review as always – the bamford products in stores are not made in the prc- so a shame they went the ‘made in prc’ direction even for first. Undermines the lux element and a step down from the jurlique/aesop line up. The latter were all identical to the Retail versions.
