Review: Four Points by Sheraton Danang

The Four Points by Sheraton Danang is a quality five star hotel across the road from the beach and ocean views from all rooms.

Given that I had signed up for the Marriott Platinum Elite Challenge and needed an additional 5 nights on top of my New York stays, the two choices in Danang were the Four Points by Sheraton and the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort

The location of the Sheraton Grand was much further out of town and about A$100 per night more expensive so I went with the Four Points for this two night stay.

I had arranged an airport transfer with the hotel via email for VND 300,000 (A$19) and the representative from Hoi An Express was at the arrivals area with Four Points by Sheraton signage.

The car arrived within a few minutes and it was a smooth 20 minute drive from Da Nang International Airport to the hotel.

Check In Experience

Typically the benefit of arranging an airport transfer through the hotel, at a premium to taxis and Grab, is they know your arrival time and are able to arrange for your room to be ready.

Whilst the front desk staff were lovely and processed the check in formalities efficiently, they advised that my room would not be ready until the official 3PM check in time.

To pass the three hours I crossed the street and took a walk up and down the very clean beach promenade, which was far less crowded than certain beaches in Thailand and Indonesia.

Once I arrived back at the Four Points just after 3PM, my room was fortunately ready and I was given the keys to a room on the 33rd floor.

Four Points by Sheraton Danang Room Review

My assigned room was 3307, the closest to the elevators but there was no noticeable noise.

The room was beautifully finished as you can see below and certainly nicer than many a Sheraton.

The bathroom was a highlight with a powerful rain shower and consistent hot water, not something to be taken for granted while travelling!

Unlike some trendier properties in the Marriott family, the Four Points Danang has full sized desks which are suitable for work or as a dining table for a room service dinner.

The seafood fried rice was hot and tasty, delivered in under 20 minutes and at under VND 200,000 (A$13) quite reasonable value at the end of a travel day with bonus beachfront walk.

The ocean views from the room and balcony were unobstructed and you could see the full length of the beach. On my first morning there was a spectacular sunrise that was a great way to start the morning.

Four Points by Sheraton Danang Review Summary

The Four Points is a top quality hotel in a great beachfront location. All the staff members I interacted with were lovely and helpful, and the one room service meal I ate at the hotel was solid.

Transport is very convenient with many taxis and Grab cars available out the front so going to Hoi An for the day or back to the airport (VND 56,000 or A$4) was never an issue.
