The Mercure Centro is one of four Accor hotels in Port Macquarie. We were on a return trip from Accor Peppers Resort Kingscliff which was awesome. The Mercure Centro by comparison is cramped and tired.

How Much Does It Cost To Stay At Mercure Centro Port Macquarie
We chose the Mercure Centro due to late minute changes to our plans that allowed a two day stop over in Port Macquarie. As an Accor Plus member we were able to add a 10% discount onto our Price.
At less than $200 per night we thought it was a reasonable deal. With NSW tourism on the rise it was the only rooms we could get with Accor in Port Macquarie!.
Location Of The Mercure Centro
The Centro is conveniently placed in the centre of town next to the Centro Shopping Mall and a short walk to the promenade and beaches. It is also handy to the local bus service which opens up some interesting day trips. Secure undercover parking is available for $10 per night at the hotel in addition to the rack rate.
Rooms Are Small And The View Underwhelming
The rooms appear to cater for business rather than holiday/tourist traffic as they are quite small and sparsely decorated. There is a fridge with tea and coffee making facilities.
Our room on the fourth floor had a balcony with a car park and ocean views, with the car parking being the dominant feature.
The mattress was very comfortable with a soft mattress protector. When combined with air conditioning and black out curtains we had a good sleep in.
Access to level four was by a single lift which could mean big delays in peak times with Covid restrictions in plA
Synergy Restaurant
As an Accor Plus member we were eligible for a 25% discount for food and drink at the Synergy restaurant. However they are running a restricted menu and opening hours due to Covid.
We stuck our head in to have a look and were underwhelmed. With so many better options available we skipped the restaurant to try some local fare.
Swimming Pool
A plus is the hotel has a small swimming pool if you dont want to walk to the beach.
Coastal Walk Port Macquarie
One of the highlights of our stay was the 9km one way Port Macquarie Coastal Walk. Our cunning hack was to catch the 322 bus from Clarence Street in front of the Port Macquarie Hotel. I captured the walk on Strava.
Summary of Centro Mercure Port Macqaurie.
Port Macquarie is a great place for a stopover on a drive north or a short getaway. There are better options available in town and next time we will look at the Ibis Styles, a more expensive choice but with far superior views and great beach access.
