Mira Moon Hong Kong is a well reviewed boutique hotel located in Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island. With only 90 rooms the hotel is much smaller than the Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour that I stayed at on my previous visit to Hong Kong and felt much more personal.
As a member of Design Hotels, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and burn points at the Mira Moon plus get some key benefits including late checkout and free internet.
Arriving late in the evening from New York, I was glad to be checked in efficiently by the friendly front desk team and went up to my assigned room. The corridor smelt strongly of cigarette smoke so I called down and asked if an alternate room could be found.
Fortunately, a corner room on the same floor as the gym was available and I was able to swing by the front desk to collect my new key.

Mira Moon Full Moon Review
Fortuitously my new room was actually an upgrade to a spacious Full Moon corner room with harbour glimpses. The decor was quirky and certainly didn’t feel like a chain hotel.
Despite being on the lowest floor of rooms, there was never any noise from the streets below.
By the door was the wardrobe plus a writing desk with plenty of charging ports and adapters to keep your devices powered up.
Bathroom
The bathroom was a delight with a deep soaking bathtub, rainfall shower and seperate toilet.
But the highlight was definitely a hot bath with a view of the Convention Centre and Victoria Harbour at the end of a long travel day.
Gym
Located on the 9th floor, the gym is small but well equipped. There was a small weights section and cardio section featuring two treadmills, an elliptical and two bikes.
Hotel gyms also often provide bottles of water, which can be handy if you’ve consumed the complimentary ones in your room.
Mira Moon Hong Kong Breakfast Review
My room rate included breakfast, which is served in the Super Giant restaurant on Level 3.
There is an egg menu plus a very good buffet selection.
I went with the fried eggs, spinach and mushrooms plus a selection of fruit.
And being in Hong Kong, it wouldn’t be breakfast without a bowl of congee.
Overall, the breakfast spread covered Western and Chinese classics and was of good quality. The breakfast room never got busy so it was a very relaxing way to start the day.
Location
Mira Moon is located in busy Causeway Bay, with the iconic Sogo Department Store and countless stores a short walk away.
It’s close to the tram lines that take you east or west, and also easy walking distance to Causeway Bay MTR station.
Getting to and from the airport is easiest using the A11 Airport Bus which originates at Hong Kong International Airport and drops you off a few hundred meters from the Mira Moon. At HK$40 (A$7.60) each way it compared to the HK$115 (A$22) for the Airport Express Train.
Mira Moon Review Summary
I really enjoyed my stay at the Mira Moon Hong Kong. It’s a distinctive boutique hotel in a great Causeway Bay location and quirky decor that makes for a fun stay.
The staff were uniformly friendly and efficient, and the breakfast was high quality.
