I began my lounge review tour at the Qantas Hong Kong Lounge, located above Gate 5 and immediately to the right after immigration. Like many Qantas international lounges, it serves both Business Class and First Class passengers and is therefore a very nice lounge to spend time in.

Qantas Hong Kong Lounge Review
The Qantas Hong Kong Lounge greets you with a stylish lobby with two podiums and a Christmas tree. Staff checked my digital Business Class boarding pass for QF128 and warmly welcomed me to the lounge.
The lounge itself is one long rectangular space cleverly divided into smaller rooms. One of the first areas you’ll pass on your left is a tended bar with a wide selection of wine, cocktails and beer.
Further along is a seating area with foliage and magazines.
And then you get to the generous dining area with tables for two and also a twelve seat dining table, which would be quite common in Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong for larger banquets.
Qantas Hong Kong Lounge Food
The dish of the day was Braised Beef Brisket Egg Noodle Soup and it was excellent. The noodles were al dente and the flavour was perfect. These noodles were significantly better than the ones at The Pier and The Wing, which were already very good.
Japan Airlines also designates this lounge as their official Business Class lounge so in the afternoon there are Japanese items on the menu.
The curry rice and miso soup were very enjoyable too.
A salad bar had soup, bread rolls and a number of fresh salads to choose from.
There was also a selection of tropical fruit, with both the watermelon and pineapple exceptionally sweet.
And while we’re on the topic of sweets, the dessert selection was very good too.
Further into the lounge, there is also a self service tea and coffee station with a selection of snacks. Comfortable armchairs with apron views are dotted around this end of the lounge.
Qantas Hong Kong Lounge Showers
Qantas consistently provides excellent shower facilities in their lounges, and the Hong Kong Lounge is no exception. A number of well maintained shower suites with bathroom facilities too. A package of towels and amenities are of course provided.
Wifi Internet Access
Fast complimentary wifi access is provided in the Hong Kong Lounge. While I saw most people connecting their smartphones and laptops, I was happy enough with the 4G speed via Vodafone $5 Global Roaming.
Summary
The Qantas Hong Kong Lounge is a great lounge with a wide selection of food, a tended bar, shower suites and an open feel.
Hong Kong International Airport has some of the best lounges in the world and the Qantas lounge more than holds its own.
